A few years ago an HP laptop I had, relatively new, had stopped booting into Windows, and instead went "beep-beep-beep-beep" each time. Took it to them, and they said, "If it beeps like that, it's pretty much fried, but see our nice selection of new computers right over there."
He either was totally incompetent or totally lazy. I'm not sure which, but neither is acceptable and he immediately tried to sell me a new one.
Having a computer repair department in a store that also sells computers is a clear conflict if interest, and the store will benefit if the "Geek Squad" takes a computer that can be repaired and deems it irreparable.
Surprised at the fact that they had the product in stock when even the manufacture did not have any in stock. I would definitely buy again there
Who manages a store that when you walk in ready to buy an iPad you're basically ignored, greeted and then told to look around..I don't need to look around, I know what I came in for..but everyone including "security" lady at front door are too busy playing with their phones to notice paying customers..ended up purchasing online and picking up at another location..sucks, as I'm a firm believer of supporting local economy but their customer service is horrible..then people wonder why shops close and online retail wins..go figure!
Instead I took it home, looked up the meaning of 4 beeps (memory), then opened the machine, swapped the two memory cards one for the other (didn't even buy a new card), made sure the cards were firmly seated, booted it up and it worked just fine.
Do not EVER use their Geek Squad for anything related to your computer unless you already know your computer cannot be repaired.
Today the exact same thing happened to a friend of mine, who actually bought a new computer when directed to do so (hers may actually have been fried), but the point is that mine wasn't, he wouldn't even look at it and he directed me to sales.
Bought a defective camera, DashCam. Exchange, no problems the new one works great, will shop again.
A slightly smaller Best Buy than others I've been to, but it was very clean and organized with plenty of employees available for help.
